The Laboratory of Applied Electronics covers an area of 600 m2 and comprises the following main equipment: Microprocessor Development Systems: Intel 8085, 8086, 80386, 80481 (Assemblers, PL/M & C Compilers, In-Circuit Emulators), Motorola MC6811 (Assemblers, C Compilers & In-Circuit Emulators), Intel 8044, 8051, 80251 & Philips 80652 (Assemblers, PL/M & C Compilers, In Circuit Emulators), Intel 80196, 80960 (Assemblers, PL/M & C Compilers, In Circuit Emulators), ARM 7D, DSP Development System (TMS320). Industrial Systems & Fieldbus Development Systems: Bitbus, WorldFIP Application Libraries, Network Interfaces, FIP compatible PLCs (Modicon TSX), PROFIBUS Application Libraries, Network Interfaces, Network Analysers, PLCs (Siemens Simatic 115U, S7-300), LabVIEW, Genesis. Home Automation Development Systems: EHS European Home Systems Application Libraries, Connection Boxes, Network Observers for TP0 (Twisted Pair) & PL (Power Line) physical layers, EIB InstaBus Development System. PLD & FPGA Development Systems: Xilinx Development System, Altera MaxPlus2 Software & FPGA Programming Adapters, Classic PLD Programmers. PCB Design Tools: Mentor Graphics, Protel, OrCAD. In the works the purchase of EMI tools. VLSI/ASIC and Simulation: Mentor Graphics, Cadence, VHDL, Synopsis, V Systems, Libraries: AMS HitKit (0.6, 0.8, 1.2 i Both Analog and Digital, BiCMOS) ES2 0.7 . ·System Development Tools: CoWare, Object Geod. In the process of purchasing advanced co-design and co-verification tools. Simulation: MatLab, Vsim, Spice, Tess. High frequency Measurement Instruments: Spectrum Analyser Tektronix 2712 (1.8 GHz), Network Analyser HP 8763D (3 GHz), Signal Generator HP8648C (3.2 GHz), Sweepers HP 8620A (1.3 GHz), Microwave and RF Design System (HP). General R&D Facilities (Hardware-Software): 60 PCs (mostly Pentium and Pentium II), two HP 750 machines, two SUN SPARC 10 machines, two SUN Ultra 30 machines, two NT/Novell Networks, 6 Hubs 10Mb, Power backup 3KVA, CD Writers, Network Printers, One Plotter A0, Daily Incremental backup, Weekly Full backup, Ethernet 10Mbits, Internet 2Mbits. Network Development and Simulation System Software: OPNET v3.5A Modeller/Radio. ·Analysers, Scopes, Measurement Instruments: Logic Analyser Tektronix Prism 3001 GPX, Spectrum Analyser Tektronix 2712, FFT Signal Analyser HP 35665A, Digital Scope Tektronix TDS 520, Portable Tektronix 224 Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Function Generations, Power Supply Units. High-Speed FDDI back-bone network connecting all the main computing systems located to the several buildings in the University Campus. |
